John Trumbull

John Trumbull (1756–1843) was an American painter known as the “Painter of the Revolution” for his iconic depictions of Revolutionary War scenes. Born in Connecticut, Trumbull studied at Harvard before joining the Continental Army, where he served as a soldier and aide to General Washington.
