Albrecht Durer

Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528) was a German painter, printmaker, and theorist of the Northern Renaissance, widely regarded as one of the greatest artists of his time. Born in Nuremberg, Dürer was the son of a goldsmith and showed early artistic talent. He trained as an apprentice under Michael Wolgemut and traveled widely across Europe, where he was influenced by Italian Renaissance masters such as Leonardo da Vinci and Giovanni Bellini.
