Egon Schiele (1890–1918) was an Austrian painter known for his expressive and often provocative works, particularly in the fields of portraiture and figurative art. He was born in Tulln, Austria, and showed an early talent for drawing. Schiele studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where he encountered the work of Gustav Klimt, who would become a significant influence on his artistic development.
