Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868–1928) was a Scottish architect, designer, and artist, celebrated as a leading figure in the Arts and Crafts movement and a pioneer of modern design. Born in Glasgow, Mackintosh trained as an architect and developed a distinctive style that blended traditional Scottish forms with Japanese simplicity and the flowing lines of Art Nouveau.

Mackintosh gained prominence in the 1890s through his partnership with the firm Honeyman and Keppie and his collaboration with “The Four”—a group including his future wife, Margaret Macdonald. Together, they helped define the “Glasgow Style,” a unique blend of geometric structure and organic motifs.
