Georges Seurat (1859–1891) was a French Post-Impressionist painter best known for pioneering the technique of Pointillism, using tiny dots of color to create luminous, harmonized compositions. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts, Seurat sought to bring scientific precision and order to painting, blending art with contemporary color theory.
