Jessie Willcox Smith (1863–1935) was a prominent American illustrator known for her contributions to children’s literature and magazines during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in Philadelphia, Smith showed artistic talent from a young age and pursued formal training at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
