Raoul Dufy (1877–1953) was a French painter, illustrator, and designer celebrated for his colorful and lively depictions of leisure, music, and cityscapes. Born in Le Havre, France, he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Initially influenced by Impressionism and Fauvism, Dufy developed a distinct style characterized by bright colors, fluid lines, and a sense of joy. His works often portrayed regattas, concerts, and fashionable society, as seen in Regatta at Cowes and The Orchestra. Beyond painting, Dufy designed textiles, ceramics, and murals, leaving a versatile artistic legacy. His works are displayed in major museums worldwide.
