Louis Abel-Truchet (1857–1918) was a French painter and poster artist known for his vibrant depictions of Parisian life, lively street scenes, and festive events. Trained at the Académie Julian, he became associated with the Belle Époque and contributed to the flourishing of modern urban art. Abel-Truchet was a founding member of the Salon d’Automne and frequently exhibited at major Paris salons. His work blended Impressionist influences with a decorative, often humorous flair. During World War I, he served as a military artist and was later killed near the front. His art captures the charm and energy of early 20th-century France.
