Sandro Botticelli (c. 1445–1510) was an Italian painter of the Early Renaissance, celebrated for his poetic and graceful works. Born Alessandro di Mariano di Vanni Filipepi in Florence, he studied under Fra Filippo Lippi and became a prominent artist of the Florentine school. Botticelli is best known for his masterpieces The Birth of Venus and Primavera, which embody classical mythology and humanist ideals. His paintings feature delicate figures, flowing lines, and a dreamlike quality. Patronized by the Medici family, he contributed to the decoration of the Sistine Chapel. Botticelli’s work remains iconic, symbolizing the beauty and ideals of Renaissance art.
